Mumbai Indians add Saanika Chalke and Latika Inamdar at WPL 2027 auction
Mumbai Indians bought Saanika Chalke and Latika Inamdar for INR 10 lakh each and added Bharti Rawal, while coach Luke Williams said he was pleased with the auction.
Mumbai Indians bought Saanika Chalke and Latika Inamdar for INR 10 lakh each at the WPL 2027 auction in Kochi, and also added spinner Bharti Rawal.
The franchise missed out on Kiran Navgire after the bidding reached INR 75 lakh. Head coach Luke Williams said he was pleased with how the auction unfolded after MI had retained a core group.
"Really excited with how the auction went by for us at MI. We came into the auction with a core group that we had already retained. So, we were keen to add some depth in different positions and we feel we have achieved that," Williams said.
He added that Saanika, a 20-year-old left-handed batter and leg-break bowler from Mumbai, adds depth to the squad. Williams also said MI's scouting network identified six young players and the staff were impressed by their attitude and skill.
